Our dresses are carefully selected with our brides in mind… We’re always mindful of different body sizes, different shapes, and ultimately, the fact that every bride is unique. That’s why we have a huge variety of dress silhouettes for you to choose from – to ensure that you leave Mabel and Maud with the perfect dress for your body shape and feeling the absolute best, most fabulous version of yourself.
Find your perfect dress shape using the silhouette guide below:

If you want to feel like an absolute princess, then a ballgown is the shape for you!
The ballgown style works particularly well if you have smaller hips and a fuller bust as the voluminous skirt balances out the fitted bodice and accentuates the waist.
However, you may want to avoid ballgowns if you have fuller hips as brides often find that the volume of the skirt can make that area larger.
The A-Line silhouette hugs you in all the right places and is great for curvier or pear-shaped brides. It can also make a petite bride look taller!
You’ll find that the A-line shape works in all variations of fabrics and we have them all for you to try! If you’re after a floaty romantic look then we have silk, chiffon, tulle, and lace A-lines that will be perfect. On the other hand, if your vibe is more Kate Middleton then we have some epic satin and silk mikado gowns. We’ve got your back girls! Don’t worry!
A fit-n-flare wedding dress is fitted at the waist and then flares out at or below the hips. This flared skirt adds a flirtatious vibe and is also easy to dance in.
Fishtail/mermaid silhouette shapes and contours the body from the chest downwards and then flares out at the knee. As the fishtail/mermaid shape can have a tendency to emphasise the waist and hips, different fabrics and lace placement can make a huge difference to the overall look of the gown depending on your body shape.
Some brides can find the fishtail/mermaid fit a little restrictive around the legs, so if you planning on incorporating high kicks into your first dance, this may not be the shape of dress for you!
A sheath cut will hug your body from head to toe. It can make a petite bride look taller, but will also add shape and definition to a tall bride.
If your top half is more boxy, then adding a belt is a great trick to create waist definition.
This silhouette looks particularly beautiful in silk or soft satin as its modern, clean lines create a look of timeless sophistication and understated elegance.
The trumpet silhouette is a more toned-down version of the fishtail… It’s not as contouring at the bodice and flares out softly at the thigh rather than the knee.
Trumpet fit is ideal for hourglass body shapes who want to show off their curves!
